The three cornerstones of what a DJ should represent - making the party about you and your guests, not all about the DJ.
Ever been to a wedding and thought the DJ was trying to make the night all about them? Sitting behind a table playing music nobody is enjoying? Refusing to take requests and playing only the songs they liked to hear? If you’d rather book a professional, seasoned DJ who can take direction, read the room, and get everyone on the dance floor with a great mix of tunes – from the timeless rock ‘n’ roll classics of the 1950s right through to current chart hits – then look no further. Importantly, when you book me, you’ll get me – no substitutions!
Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to learn more about me!
I’ve been working in the wedding and corporate entertainment sector since 1999 starting at the age of 18, cutting my DJ teeth in the pubs, clubs, and venues of Loughborough and Leicestershire. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of DJing at countless weddings, black-tie corporate functions, charity events, product launches, and more – entertaining many people along the way.
After a brief break from DJing to focus on other projects (including our wedding photography and photobooths), I returned to the DJ booth in late 2024, eager to entertain the good people of the UK once again. I take a unique approach to DJing – it’s my firm belief that while other DJs might focus on the technical details such as the specific lights they use or the wattage of their sound system, these are things the average client doesn’t always know (or care) about. What they do care about is booking a DJ who is reliable, professional, and personable. These key ingredients have been central to my success over the years, helping me build a loyal client base and a stellar reputation as an events DJ.
For me, it’s not necessarily about the equipment, having the right tools at hand should be a given – as long as I’m providing top-quality sound and plenty of colourful lighting, my focus is always on the music I choose and the interaction I have with your guests. This philosophy, combined with a strong commitment to regulations such as electrical safety testing, insurance, and risk assessments, means that I’m frequently chosen by some of the country’s top entertainment agencies when they need someone reliable and professional.
During my time away from the decks, I remained active in the wedding sector, and more often than not, I found myself observing DJs with “all the gear, but no idea”. They had impressive setups, yet the guests seemed underwhelmed, which led me to think “I know I can do better than this”… and “I actually really miss DJing!” (I’ll admit, there was probably also a thought about whether there would be a hog roast for the evening food, but I digress – the way to my heart is definitely through my stomach!) And so, after much reflection, I decided to return to the decks – and here I am, back once again like the proverbial Renegade Master.
On a personal note, I live in a small village between Loughborough and Leicester with my wife and our four children. It’s exciting to see that all of them are drawn to the world of entertainment and the stage! We’re big fans of the theatre, and as a business we proudly sponsor Curve in Leicester. At the weekend you’ll often find me running the children to their various activities before preparing for a gig, or cycling through the beautiful Bradgate Park, which we’re lucky to have right on our doorstep.
